Also a statue sitting on a bench she is rarely one of 'all the lonely people' any more but I've never seen such crowds with her as the saint's fans! I love your descriptions of the Carmelites - they were the first real nuns I 'encountered' on my way to school as a 5 year old (stopped with an older girl to light a candle) and the elusiveness of them frightened me - but not as much as the grumpy Notre Dame nun who was the head of that school where my stay was mercifully brief!
